Richard Meier’s First Building in Miami
Richard Meier is a very well known and respected architect internationally. There are tons of books, publications and articles written about him and his buildings have become landmarks all over the world. When I think of Richard Meier I think of serene white buildings that reflect our modern times, buildings that are true to themselves, monuments in a landscape. ‘Richard Meier & Partners aims to deliver thoughtful, original and contemporary architecture that conveys a sense of humanism and purpose while fulfilling programmatic requirements’
Some of my favorite projects include The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, The Weishaupt Forum, The High Museum of Art and my all time favorite, The Atheneum.
In Miami, we are now fortunate to have one of Richard Meiers projects, The Beach House. A perfect example of Miami Beach Luxury Real Estate.
Located on Collins Avenue, within walking distance to Bal Harbour Shops on a spectacular beach, and close enough to South Beach’s restaurants and nightlife. It is a 12-story glass condo comprised of only 101 luxury units, with 200 feet of unobstructed ocean views. From floor to ceiling windows, generous terraces, reflecting pools and waterfall, this building is all about relaxation and well-being. It will feature a private beach club, pool and cabanas overlooking the ocean, a health club, wine and cigar lounge and a spa.
There are still units available for sale at The Beach House. Demolition of the existing hotel at its site has started and commencement of the new construction will follow. The completion of the project is expected two years after its initiation.
I can honestly say that quality design of this nature is something we cannot overlook. This project represents Miami Real Estate at its best, a true MIAMISM. Please contact RICK & INES Team Miamism for more information, including floor plans and a list of available units.
As of April 19, 2008, The Beach House has not yet began construction, although the site is ready to go and the existing building was demolished. I have not contacted the sales office but heresay around town is that they have changed developers several times and who knows when the project will actually begin. The architectural romantic in me REALLY wants to see it come to life. Will Miami Beach Real Estate ever have this great Richard Meier building?
