What Walking Across a Stage in D.C. Has to Do with Your Home
This month, I walked across a stage in Washington, D.C., shook hands with the president of the National Association of REALTORS® and accepted a plaque that says RPAC Hall of Fame.
Sounds fancy, right?
But here’s the part that matters to you.
That moment on stage wasn’t about a title or a trophy. It was about something you don’t see in real estate listings or glossy postcards: advocacy.
The Real Meaning Behind That Stage Moment
Because while I stood on that stage, I wasn’t thinking about recognition. I was thinking about what it means to protect the path to ownership and why that path has twists and turns most people never see.
Whether you’re buying your first condo, upgrading to your forever home, or investing in a penthouse with skyline views, homeownership comes with more than a price tag. It comes with policies, rules, legislation that can help or hurt your ability to own, build, invest, and thrive.
What Advocacy Looks Like in Florida
In Florida, we’ve had to fight hard to preserve those rights and we’re still fighting.
Think about rising insurance premiums and limited coverage options. Think about condo reform after the Surfside tragedy and how new safety rules impact both buyers and current owners. Think about business rent tax reductions that help small businesses stay in place and serve their communities.
Then there’s the bigger picture: ecological protections, preserving public access to parks, keeping our waters clean and livable, and making sure real estate development respects the land we all rely on.
Why It Matters to You
That’s what RPAC makes possible. A seat at the table, a voice in the room, and a strategy for protecting what matters before it’s too late.
So yes, I walked across a stage in a blazer and heels, smiled for a photo, and held up a plaque. But what I was really doing was representing you.
Let’s Talk About What’s Behind the Scenes
We don’t just sell real estate. We protect it. If you’re looking for a team that truly looks out for your best interest, from the closing table to Capitol Hill, let’s talk.
Because behind every real estate transaction is a person, a family, a future. And yes, sometimes a REALTOR® making noise in D.C. so that future stays protected.
