From the NAR settlement and ongoing lawsuits to economic woes and media backlash, 2024 will officially go down as one of the most tumultuous years in the history of residential real estate. But while the challenges proved insurmountable to some, many seized the opportunity to embrace change, innovate, educate and succeed. While some succumbed to the pressure, others rose to the occasion and shined. These are our 2025 Real Estate Newsmakers.
Our eighth annual class of Real Estate Newsmakers demonstrated a wide array of accomplishments in 2024, but the name of the game was perseverance as the real estate industry as we knew it confronted existential change. We applaud their widespread efforts to educate, lead and restore confidence in the invaluable role of the real estate professional.

Ines Hegedus-Garcia
Ines Hegedus-Garcia is a dynamic force in the real estate industry, blending her architectural background with a tech-driven approach to business. She remains dedicated to helping agents succeed through strategic use of technology, data and smart solutions.
In 2024, Hegedus-Garcia was awarded Innovator of the Year by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) at the iOi Summit, further solidifying her role as a forward-thinking leader. She was also the 2024 chair of the NAR Federal Technology Committee, whose role is to investigate, analyze, develop and recommend NAR policy on new and emerging federal technology and telecommunications issues and trends.
“The most rewarding part of my career is helping individual agents achieve their maximum potential by using strategy, data and technology in smart and efficient ways,” shares Hegedus-Garcia. “Watching them succeed by leveraging these tools is incredibly fulfilling. Additionally, growing Avanti Way Realty to nearly 2,000 agents has been equally rewarding, as it reflects the impact of our innovative approach and the collective success of our agents.”
Hegedus-Garcia was also the Miami REALTORS® PAC Chair, and named REALTOR® of the year by Miami REALTORS®.
