Miamians are miserable, complaining every other minute because our temps dropped below 60—yes, 60 degrees!!! We can deal with this for a couple of days, but that’s it! And let’s not forget the endless whining about how we “can’t take this anymore” and asking, “How long will this misery last?”

And then it hit me: how selfish we must look to the rest of the country. Snowed-in mornings, scraping ice off your car, trying to remember what it feels like to have toes—meanwhile, we’re over here layering up for what is, objectively, perfect weather.

While most of the country is in survival mode, braving single-digit temps and icy sidewalks, Miamians are throwing on a jacket for effect and still hitting up the beach for sunrise.
