Miamism Fridays – The Fontainebleau

If you know Miami, you KNOW The Fontainebleau, designed by renowned mid-century architect Morris Lapidus.  If you don’t know it, please do yourself a favor and go – either for the great restaurants, the amazing pool or beach service, Club Liv or just for Bleau Bar in the lobby.  It is one of Miami’s great landmarks.  This amazing night capture was taken by local photographer Yanni Georgoulakis, who I’ve been told is half Cuban and half Greek. (talk about perfect Miami cultural diversity).

  1. As a child, on family vacations from the frigid, wintery north, a visit to “The Bleau” (our Shangri La) was always a requisite activity for us.

Now, some forty years later, with adjustments for inflation ( $25 burgers in one of the many restaurants ), “The Bleau” remains a must visit in our tropical paradise.
